Who would be the audience for your media product?
We chose to make our thriller a certificate 15, as this would be suitable as we could relate to this certificate classification and know what is expected. We handed out 20 questionnaires to teenagers over 15.
This is Nida Kamal who answered one of my questionnaires. She can represent our target audience as she is very typical of our target audience. She enjoys watching thriller films in her spare time with friends. She doesn’t have much knowledge about genres of films, as when she was asked what thriller film was her favourite she answered, ‘Saw’, which actually is a horror film is. She stated this as her favourite thriller film because of the use of suspense. For our product we thought about our target audience and tried to create suspense throughout the opening sequence.
